Hamas Gaza Deal: US President Donald Trump has prepared a 20-point peace proposal to end the Gaza War. Israel has agreed to this plan, but the decision on whether or not a deal will be reached now rests entirely with Hamas. Trump has given Hamas an ultimatum to accept the deal by 6 p.m. Sunday (September 5). If Hamas does not agree by the stipulated time, Trump may take harsh measures against it.

Trump's Warning and Ultimatum

President Trump has been continuously issuing ultimatums to Hamas regarding the deal. He has stated that if Hamas does not accept the deal, it will face devastation, which directly translates to an attack. On Friday, Trump wrote on his social media platform, "Truth Social," that the US will somehow achieve peace in the Middle East. All hostages must be released, including those who are no longer alive.

Before the ultimatum expired on Saturday, Trump issued a final warning to Hamas, saying that if immediate action is not taken on a peace agreement, Gaza will face further devastation. The meaning of this warning is clear: if Hamas does not agree to the deal, Trump may attack Hamas. Israel has also warned that if Hamas does not agree to the deal, it will take action in collaboration with the US. Trump stated that any delay will not be tolerated and Gaza cannot be endangered again.

Hamas's Response and Disputed Points

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu agreed to the deal as soon as it was finalized. Now, all eyes are on Hamas. One of the 20 points of the deal requires Hamas to surrender its weapons and have no future role in Gaza. Hamas has not yet agreed to this condition. However, Hamas has agreed to the release of hostages. Hamas's biggest objection concerns Gaza's future political system. They argue that power should be vested in an independent Palestinian technocratic government, while Trump's plan proposes giving control to an international body called the "Board of Peace."

There are also differences on the issue of weapons. Trump's proposal states that Hamas must surrender its weapons and will have no role in the future Gaza government. Hamas has neither fully accepted nor completely rejected this.

Further Plans

Talks are going to be held between Hamas and Israeli delegations in Egypt on Monday. In this meeting, the release and ceasefire of hostages will be held mainly. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that these talks are expected to result insignificant progress in ending the Gaza war and the pain of Palestinian citizens.
